Bashundhara Lachsa Semai

Bashundhara Lachcha Semai is fine, layered vermicelli for the sweet milk semai served at Eid and family celebrations. It is made in Bangladesh by Bashundhara Food & Beverage Industries Ltd., which calls it an instant food: it needs only sweetened warm milk and a garnish.

How to use

• Heat milk with sugar and a pod or two of cardamom, add the semai and stir gently until soft.
• Top with raisins, chopped nuts and dried fruit, as Bashundhara suggests.
• Serve warm on Eid morning, or chill it for a cold dessert later in the day.
• Handle the pack with care, because the fine strands break easily.
