About this product
Jilapi is a sweet made of fried spirals soaked in sugar syrup, sold in a 200g pack. It is the Bengali name for jalebi, the sweet found in sweet shops and at street stalls from Dhaka to Delhi. In Bangladesh a plate of jilapi is a fixture of the iftar table during Ramadan. This item is sent chilled; store as directed on the pack.
How to use
- Put it out at iftar alongside piyaju, beguni and dates.
- Serve with a bowl of plain doi (yogurt), as jalebi is often eaten in North India.
- Break the longer spirals into pieces so everyone gets a share.
