About this product
Ambika Sweet Basil Seed is the edible seed of the sweet basil plant, also called sabja or tukmaria, in a 50 g pack. Ambika lists India as the origin and basil seed as the only ingredient. Soaked in water, the seeds swell into soft, jelly-coated pearls. The small pack is handy for trying them or for the odd dessert.
How to use
- Rinse the seeds in a fine sieve under running water, then soak them; they start to gel quickly.
- About one teaspoon is enough for one drink or dessert, as Ambika suggests.
- Add them to falooda, rose syrup drinks, lemonade, cut fruit or ice cream.
- Keep soaked seeds in the fridge and use them within 2 to 3 days.
