CLIMBING PERCH (Koi) 500g

Climbing Perch (Koi) is a 500g pack of halal climbing perch, the freshwater fish known as koi in Bengali, imported from Vietnam. Koi is a small fish with firm flesh, hard scales and spiny fins, and Bengali cooks usually fry it before simmering it in a gravy.

How to use

• If the fish is not cleaned, scale and gut it and trim the sharp fins.
• Rub with turmeric and salt and fry until crisp.
• Simmer the fried fish in koi macher jhol, or in a thick onion and mustard-oil gravy for tel koi.
• Delivered chilled; store as directed on the pack.
