JB Dry Fish (Suri)

JB Dry Fish (Suri) is a 200g pack of halal dried churi, also spelled suri: the long, flat, silvery ribbonfish, or hairtail. The dried fish is firm with a strong smell, and is usually cut into short lengths before it goes into the pan.

How to use

• Cut into pieces about 5cm long, soak in warm water for a few minutes and rinse.
• Cook as churi shutki bhuna with onion, garlic, tomato and dried chilli until the sauce clings.
• Add a few pieces to a vegetable curry with aubergine or potato.
• Store as directed on the pack.
