JB Hilsha Fish Blk 600g

JB Hilsha Fish is a 600g pack of halal hilsa, the fish known as ilish in Bengali. A member of the herring family and the national fish of Bangladesh, hilsa is cooked in dozens of ways in Bengali kitchens. It has many fine bones, so take your time with each piece.

How to use

• Rub the pieces with turmeric, chilli and salt and shallow-fry for ilish bhaja.
• Coat with mustard paste and green chilli, wrap in banana leaf and steam as ilish paturi.
• Simmer in a thin jhol with aubergine, or cook as a dopiaza with plenty of onion.
• Delivered chilled; store as directed on the pack.
