Padma Tengra Fish 500g Blk

Padma Tengra Fish is a 500g pack of halal tengra, small whiskered catfish from the rivers and ponds of Bangladesh. Padma imports it and sells it frozen, and the photo on its listing shows whole fish. Tengra are usually cooked whole, as they are too small to cut into steaks.

How to use

• Once thawed, rinse and snip off the sharp fin spines with kitchen scissors.
• Simmer as tengra macher jhol with potato, aubergine and tomato in a light turmeric gravy.
• For shorshe tengra, cook the fish in mustard paste with green chilli and a little mustard oil.
• Store as directed on the pack.
