Mehran Basmati Kernel Rice is long-grain basmati in a 1 kg pack, a handy size for trying it or for cooking basmati now and then. Like other basmati, the grains grow longer in the pot and stay separate once cooked.

How to use

• Rinse the rice gently two or three times, until the water is nearly clear.
• Soak it for 20 to 30 minutes before cooking, so the grains lengthen without breaking.
• Cook a weekend chicken biryani or a small pot of pulao, or serve it plain with dal and curry.
