Ambika Papad Plain Lijjat 200g

Lijjat Plain Papad is a 200 g pack of thin urad dal wafers that turn crisp when fried or roasted. They are made in India by Lijjat, a women's workers' cooperative founded in Mumbai in 1959, and Ambika Japan lists the ingredients as urad beans, salt, cottonseed oil and spices.

How to use

• Deep-fry one papad at a time in hot oil for a few seconds, until it expands and crisps.
• For less oil, roast it over a gas flame with tongs, turning until blistered all over.
• Serve with rice, dal and curry, or on its own with chutney as a snack.
• After opening, seal the pack well and keep it cool and dry.
