JB Mushri Split Dal (Lentil) 1kg

JB Mushri Split Dal is skinned, split red lentils (masoor dal) in a 1 kg pack. The small orange lentils need no soaking, turn yellow as they cook and soften into the thin, smooth musur dal eaten with rice in Bengali homes.

How to use

• Rinse until the water runs clear, then boil with turmeric and salt until the lentils fall apart.
• Whisk for a smoother dal and loosen with hot water if needed.
• Pour over a tempering of sliced onion, garlic and dried chilli fried in oil.
