Padma Black Chana 1kg

Padma Black Chana is kala chana, the small dark-brown chickpea, in a 1 kg pack. Padma lists Australia as the origin. It has a thicker skin than white chickpeas and keeps a firm bite once cooked.

How to use

• Soak overnight in plenty of water, then boil or pressure-cook until tender.
• Cook with onion, tomato and spices for a kala chana curry.
• Toss boiled chana with chopped onion, green chilli and lemon juice for chana chaat.
• Keep a little of the cooking water to thicken the gravy.
