Padma Moong Dal 1kg

Padma Moong Dal is hulled mung beans, the small yellow lentil, in a 1 kg pack. Padma, based in Misato, Saitama, lists Myanmar as the origin. Moong dal cooks quickly without soaking and is used across South Asia for everyday dal, khichuri and soups.

How to use

• Rinse well, then simmer in water with turmeric and salt until soft.
• Finish with cumin, garlic and dried chilli fried in ghee or oil.
• Cook it with rice for khichuri.
• For Bengali-style dal, dry-roast the lentils in a pan before boiling.
